Dear Herta,
.... While I write, I am reminded of a need of some students whom you have been supporting for two years. Criselda Llena finished her High School and enrolled in a Computer Training Center. She finished a year of a two-year course and needs to enroll again in June. Because Criselda lives in a far-away barangay or barrio, so I approved her plan to stay in an apartment for US$12 a month last year for the whole schoolyear. That will happen again this year as it is easier to do that plus she can save on time that she would use for travel. Then there is another young woman whom you supported to finish High School, Rona Amor Galdones. Rona Amor went to Manila after High school graduation because her family needed the money. She is still working until enrollment but wants to go to school in the same Computer Training Center. I have two more young women who graduated last April from High School - Janette Gagabi and Elvi Permito, both also hope to go to Computer Training Center annexed to the Central Luzon State University in the next town, which would imply transportation.
I would like to request you and our friends there in Germany to help these four young women this year. The budget would be as follows"
Tuition - US $155 for 4 women .................... $620.
Transportation for Janette and Elvi .............. $ 330.
Lodging for Criselda and Rona Amor ........ $ 300.
Total ............... . $1250.
Other needs such as food and school supplies will be provided from other sources, their parents and other ways. Please let me know how you can help us with these young women. I would be most grateful for your assistance again.
